Trip to Lavenham and surrounding area on Monday 16 January 2017
For the first trip of the New Year, 14 club members braved the cold weather and arrived in Lavenham, by various routes, by 09.30
The weather was cloudy but dry and sooner or later we all found our way to the church of St. Peter and St. Paul to practice our HDR technique. Lavenham has a great abundance of half-timbered houses in various states of subsidence and crookedness that make for interesting subjects. We all arrived at The Angel Inn for lunch by 1pm although those that arrived early were able to bag the last of the fish and chips and sausages. An enjoyable lunch was had by all on one long table making plans for the afternoon.
After lunch the various groups went to Clare, Kersey and Long Melford – all picturesque villages.
11 members paid to enter the friendly photograph competition, to be judged by Dave Hussey, although one of our number somehow managed to delete all his images before submitting them for consideration!
