Ashbridge Estate Visit
31st October 2019
9 of us went to Ashridge Estate on Thursday 31 October 2019. Most of us left about 7 am and the journey on the M25 wasn’t bad at all. We were hoping for autumn colours but it was generally still very green. So it was a challenging for photography but there were plenty of fungi. And when we arrived it was very cold. But it warmed up and despite the weather forecast it was mostly sunny and bright all day.
For lunch most of us went to the Greyhound Inn at Aldbury near the Estate, and by then it was warm enough to sit outside. And the beer was good.
We went back to the Estate to the Golden Valley designed by Capability Brown and then to the Pitstone Windmill.
The journey back on the M25 was slow but not too bad.
So another good trip and all enjoyed it.
Best wishes, Ray Waters
