Bury St Edmunds Trip
Seven of us left at 7.30 am on Monday 19th March for Bury St Edmunds. A few problems in the car park when our first car arrived, parking machine wouldn’t work, I dropped a hearing aid and it took us 15 minutes to find it – how could that be?
We walked to the town centre, sunny but very cold so we stopped at a cafe and met up with the rest of the group. On the way we avoided a large dog poo on the pavement. One of the group from the second car managed to tread on it so we had to banish him from our table.
After that things got better. We went on to the Abbey Grounds and as usual we all split up and did our own thing until we met up for lunch at The One Bull – a very pleasant restaurant and good food, well researched by Steve,
After the meal a short drive to Ickworth, a National Trust property. We walked around the grounds taking pictures of the buildings and gardens, not many spring flowers out but many new born lambs.
Another very enjoyable day, back in Billericay around 7.00 pm.
